Happy Halloween | Last Minute Costume Ideas

Happy Halloween, everyone! I’m keeping this blog post short and sweet today because ain’t nobody got time for a long blog post on Halloween! You’re probably busy reading this while passing out candy to trick-or-treaters, getting dressed in your costume, or still trying to decide what you’re going to wear today. That last scenario is where I come in!

I love Halloween. I really do. But for some reason this year I felt it snuck up on me, and I didn’t have enough time to prepare. And there’s been a lot going on in my life so it’s, unfortunately, kind of been an afterthought. But that doesn’t mean I’m not getting into the spirit today! Normally, Ryan and I go all out for Halloween with coordinating outfits. We love to dress up! Check out some of our faves from the past few years.

This year, we aren’t as on top of our game, but that’s okay! There’s still time to figure out a last minute costume! If you’re like me and procrastinated on your costume this Halloween, no problem! I’m sharing 6 of my favorite, easy, go-to, mostly DIY, cheap costume ideas below. Hopefully they give you some inspiration!

Black Cat

I feel like this is the most popular, last-minute costume, for good reason! Throw on all black and some cat ears, take some black eyeliner (or face paint if you’re fancy) and draw little whiskers and a nose on your face. Boom, done!

Classic Witch

I feel like a witch is a classic Halloween costume that most people forget about. If you want to keep it easy, the only thing you need to buy is the witch hat. Add some black tights and black boots with a black dress, and you’ll be a chic, little witch.

Snapchat Filter

Even though I don’t use Snapchat that much anymore, I still love the fun filters they have, and they make great costumes! If you love pretty makeup, this costume is for you. Do your makeup really well and add you favorite filter (headpiece, super contour, accessories, etc.). You’ll look pretty all night long! This would be fun to do with a group. Wear all black and everyone do their favorite filter.

Pretty Scarecrow

This costume looks like it takes a lot out of effort, but it’s easier than you think! You probably have most of what you need: jeans or overalls, a plaid shirt, and a hat maybe. The detail is in the makeup and there are a ton of tutorials on YouTube.

Rosie the Riveter

This boss babe is a classic, easy Halloween costume! Throw on your favorite denim pieces, tie a red bandana in your hair, and finish it off with your favorite red lipstick. You’ll be the WO-MAN!

Ariana Grande

I don’t know if this Ariana Grande costume can get any easier. Put on an XXL sweatshirt, black knee high boots, winged eyeliner, tons of bronzer and highlighter, and the slickest, highest, sassiest ponytail you can!

It’s going to be a crazy day of rushing around but worth it! Even though this is our second Halloween in our home, this is the first year we are going to be passing out candy to trick-or-treaters, and I AM PUMPED! We have bags of chips for them (we wanted to be different), but I’m going to pick up candy on the way home from work, too. Give the kiddos some options, ya know?!

I hope everyone has something fun planned tonight, whether it’s trick-or-treating, going to a Halloween party, or even just curling up on the couch with some candy and watching Hocus Pocus!

If you’re dressing up, let me know who/what you’re going to be!

Happy Halloween! Have a spook-tacular day!
